CFP supports Clean Air in London

For some time, The Clean Air in London campaign has been working to encourage the Mayor of London to include indoor air quality (IAQ) levels in his revised London Plan for buildings over a certain size. The central idea is to implement a new national Clean Air Act that includes IAQ measures – sooner, rather than later. As an advocate of IAQ, CFP wholly supports the campaign.

It is thought that since the beginning of the year, more than 1,000 people have already died in the capital as a direct result of air pollution. Whilst this number is alarmingly high, it comes as no real surprise given that according to IAQUK indoor environments are also 10 times more polluted than outdoor environments.

Earlier this month, the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA) threw its weight behind the campaign too. This is of great importance given that BESA represents the contractors who install systems to deliver clean air in buildings.

CFP has long championed the benefits of IAQ, having recently published our own guide for Facilities Managers which addresses the real cost of poor IAQ, how to achieve good IAQ and the benefits of a professional air filter management service.

For over 20 years, our customers have ranged from single site engineers to some of the largest facilities management companies in the UK, so we know a new IAQ standard would work exceptionally well and can make a real, immediate impact to the health and wellbeing of people not just in the capital, but across the entire UK.

If you’re looking for a straightforward quarterly clean and inspection or scheduled maintenance across multiple sites, CFP can design an air filter maintenance service agreement to meet your specific needs to help achieve good IAQ.
