Marks & Spencer is a major international and multi-channel retailer with a loyal customer base, more than 900 stores in the UK and a group income in excess of £10bn.

The Challenge

M&S facilities management team works hard to create an in-store environment that reflects the high quality of the products they sell. They needed an air filter supplier with the products and expertise to deliver well-ventilated, high quality indoor air and contribute to their Plan A commitments to energy conservation and waste reduction. They needed a proactive partner, capable of keeping up with its changing air filter requirements.

The Solution

CFP established a comprehensive and professional air filter management service across more than 450 M&S stores. It includes the supply of energy efficient, filters that meet M&S’s technical requirements and schedules their replacement at the correct intervals to ensure maximum energy efficiency – actively contributing to M&S’s Plan A commitments.

The process starts with a site survey which details the condition of each air handling unit (AHU), notes any remedial works required and includes recommendations for improved filter specification and efficiencies.

Once product orders have been fulfilled, CFP provides M&S engineers and store personnel with email and text notifications that show when filters have been delivered to store and who signed for them.

All filters are labelled with the relevant AHU ready for site engineers to install; reducing unnecessary time spent locating them and working out which one goes where.

CFP has now been working with M&S for more than 10 years and has tailored its air filter management services to meet M&S’s changing needs. For instance it now includes a supply, fit and removal service for sites that need it as well as useful filter conversion service that site managers can call on when they need new filter banks installing or an existing filter housing needs remodelling.
