CFPs Top Tips for keeping filters performing in warm weather

With the weather set to get hotter this week, and summer well underway, it’s important to consider how the latest heat wave can impact on your filter systems.

As longstanding champions of clean Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), CFP is committed to helping businesses create clean and pleasant environments for employees and customers alike though our Professional Filter Management programme.

Effective maintenance of air filters ensures that indoor environments are kept clean and free from dust particles. With many variations of particle matter to consider, from nanoparticles and exhaust gasses through to pollen, toner dust and even hair, it’s important to ensure you have to correct filter for your needs. CFP has a range of filters tested to ISO 16890 standards, protecting against airborne particles from ePM10 to ePM1. These solutions will deliver optimum levels of filtration achieving the highest possible IAQ for your business.

It’s also vital that AHU ductwork is regularly maintained and kept clean. By ensuring that your business is part of a sustained programme of filter maintenance across all sites, you can be sure that ductwork can prevent the build-up of mould and bacteria.

A dramatic change in temperature can have a considerable effect on the performance of your air filters. So how can you make sure your filters continue to perform at maximum capacity?

CFP Sales Manager, Ian, offers his top tips on how to keep your air filters and systems operating efficiently during the warm weather.

Change filters regularly

Air filters are able to offer higher levels of IAQ when working at maximum capacity. At optimum performance, air passes quickly through the filter. The older filters become, the slower the air passes through, and the less particles the filters can effectively extract from the air. When filters are changed regularly, this will create cleaner, high quality air that is free from dust and polluted particles.

Clean coils regularly

The metal coils behind the air filters are essential for keeping air cool as the temperature outside rises. These coils are designed to decrease the temperature but need to be cleaned on a regular basis to ensure that your filters continue to produce cooler, cleaner air. And let’s face it, we all need some cool air in this weather!

Wherever possible, we would always recommend that filters are changed in preparation for the summer to ensure your filters are ready to tackle any unexpected heat. However, there is still time to get your filters checked as the warm weather is set to continue. Changing filters regularly and undergoing maintenance is a quick, easy and inexpensive way to ensure your filters are ready for the summer.
